A stunning beginning. A broad landing area is framed by umbrella pines with sandy understory. The fairway narrows beyond 250 meters, and the green is set in a natural bowl of native sand dunes.

A short par four, with a bunker in the center of the landing area. A perched green slopes from right to left. The hole is well framed by the beautiful umbrella pines and natural dunes.

Protected and in the seclusion of the pine forest, the 3rd hole is the first of five par threes at Oitavos Dunes. Three deep bunkers guard the front of this long green. When the flag is at the back, play to the middle and take your par.

Another relatively short par four. A north wind can change the hole dramatically. To keep shots in the fairway aim down left side. The green is deceivingly quick, and slopes to the Ocean.

The fifth is a long par four and usually plays into the prevailing wind. The landing area is spacious, but several bunkers are in play. Enjoy the views of the Sintra mountains and the Atlantic ocean. A low profile green welcomes a running approach shot, in true Links style.

This hole offers some relief. The landing area is wide, favor the left as there are several fairway bunkers on the right. Take an extra club for your second shot to pitch it on the green. Shots that land short are unpredictable.

The first of back to back par fives offer a beautiful backdrop and shield the hole from the wind. A long drive sets up the opportunity to reach this green in two, but par is a good score.

Completely open to Mother Nature's fury! The tee shot plays uphill to a broad plateau, favor the left. The green is nestled among native dunes. The approach is very narrow, uphill and the green is relatively small.

Players are now face to face with the open landscape, mountains, the Cabo da Roca and wind from the ocean. This downhill par three appears short, but the wind will demand extra clubs.

Make the turn home, hopefully with the aid of the wind. Play to the left half of the fairway which is generous with out of bounds along the right side and dunes flanking the left. The green is an elevated target and requires an extra club.

The longest of the par threes at Oitavos Dunes. It plays downhill and usually with the wind. Two large bunkers guard the green on either side, but afford an open running entry into the green.

This is the first of two spectacular par threes. Set against one of the best views in golf and the western most point in Europe! The wind calls for a low solid shot over the deep sandy bunker.

In contrast to the previous hole, this par three plays down wind. A gentle tier divides the front and back halves of the green, so club selection is key. Few par threes are able to match the 14th and 15th for beauty and pure shot making values

The last of the par fives at Oitavos Dunes. The elevated tees allow dramatic views of the ocean in the distance. The perfect tee shot is down the right center. The bunkers tighten up the approach to the green, which slopes from back to front.

Two very strong par four make up a memorable finish. The hole plays downhill and typically downwind with the fairway sloping from left to right. The green is difficult to hit and a good shot is rewarded with a par.

The elevated tees afford magnificent views of the Atlantic ocean. This finishing par four, is one of the best in Europe. Favor the left side off the tee and split the pines on your second shot to the elevated green.
